Offering an extremely rare set of 40 original paper editions of Van Nostrand’s Eclectic Engineering Magazine. The earliest is volume 63, dated August 1874 and the latest Is volume 176, dated August 1883.
Condition varies from issue to issue, exemplar issue in photograph is representative. They are all readable (and fascinating), covering topics from how the Panama Canal is being built, why this brand of rifle works better, theories of physics, suggested improvements for forging. Curiously, some of the pages are fused at the top (see picture). It’s not from moisture or any kind of damage, it appears the print run didn’t cut them all properly. So there are some even rarer misprints in this lot.
