Offering a Victorian era post mortem infant 6th plate tintype photograph in a pressed leather case. The posing is quite rare for a memorial photo, child is upright in the chair, laying peacefully, ribbons around wrists to hold them in place, clutching greens. It’s a haunting and beautiful image, taken in honor of this child’s short life.
The ring halo in the closeup is an unavoidable glare of the zoom lens, it does not appear on the picture. This hard cased image in excellent shape in a leather latching case. There is stippling wear on the rear of the case. The fur lining is a burnt umber color, with a slight tear in the top left, likely where a mourning ribbon was pinned and pulled off.
