Offering a set of Victorian advertising trade cards, circa 1890.
This set features a sepia toned trade card from a Stationery merchant out of Utica, NY. The scene is a wooden cabin at the top of a path of stone steps in the forest.The obverse features additional detail about the merchant’s offerings.
One is a beautiful tropical landscape for Haines Brothers, New York (also out of Chicago). The obverse features a testimonial about the quality of their pianos. The lower right corner of this card has detached entirely. It is included.
One a beach scene, mandrake trees in the front left, reeds and tall grasses. In the distance is a mountain. The edging is textured, like from a special kind of pinking shears. Text on the card declares the “75th anniversary AOF”. Obverse blank.
These are in suitable-for-collector condition, however, with antique paper, buyer should expect condition to be commiserate, and as shown in photographs. These will ship for free within the United States.
