Offering a tintype photo showing a blind man holding a draped railing and his guide holding the newel post.

The picture is very clear, the close up photos are taken with a macro lens that isn’t quite strong enough, this is why the close up appears blurry.

The corners are cut, this was probably in a frame case at one point. 

Tintype photos were introduced in 1856 and were popular until 1867. It was still possible to have an “old timey” tintype taken until right after the turn of the century.
