This extremely rare doorknob is believed to be European in origin on account of it's smaller size and shape. It features a deep relief of a woman's face and hair in the center with scalloped framing. We also have a complimentary knob of shape, size and similar construction featuring a man's face so we think of these as the Queen and King knobs. The Antique Doorknob Collectors of America have assigned this knob
identifier A-32612 but this is the first one cataloged (it is the exemplar picture) and manufacturer or provenance has not yet been established.
