These lovely pieces of antique hardware were mounted on roofs to prevent large sheets of ice from sliding down as they began to thaw. The ice would hit these “birds” and break apart to minimize possible damage to things below.
They are a matching lot of 6, complete and fully functional. They are marked Slatington, PA, patent date July 24th, 1923.
